Tenon operates pine processing facilities in Taupo, New Zealand. This is a strategic location - close to high-quality forest resources and major export ports.
Our Taupo site is one of New Zealand's largest manufacturer and exporter of defect-free, appearance-grade radiata pine products. It is a specialised high-value clearwood production facility - with over half its sawn timber output being used on-site in further manufacturing.
Our premium quality pruned pine is shaped into appearance-grade timber and boards for the demanding North American, and European Clearwood markets.
Our operations include:
Sawmilling
Tenon operates one of New Zealand’s largest pruned-log sawmills. The sawmill specialises in value and grade recovery – and is one of few such mills in the world to have operated on a 24/7 shift pattern..
Mouldings plant
The plant incorporates
- Three high speed Weinig Moulding Lines incorporating resawing, moulding, barcoding, grading and packaging
- A state of art grade scanning, defecting and stacking “System TM”line
Board plant
This plant was initially designed (2007) to manufacture Solid Lineal Mouldings for the USA Market. In more recent times this operation has focused on the production of Clear Pine Boards and Siding Profiles for the USA Market.
To ensure all finished products reach our customers in the best condition, we package all products, and dispatch from the site in ‘high cube’ 40ft containers directly to our customers around the world.
Our Boards Plant produces high-grade Clear Pine Boards up to 300mm wide, for the USA DIY and contractor markets.
